Chinese Taipei Olympians Association
Introduction
Members of Chinese Taipei Olympians Association are eligible to participate in the Olympic Games and are affiliated with the World Olympians Association (WOA), which was established in 1996. Currently, There are about 100 Olympians worldwide participated in this family.
Chinese Taipei Olympian Association (CTOA) held its first preliminary meeting in Hualien on February 3rd 2017 after 2 years of preparation. After four months of hard work and the dedication of experienced professionals and athletes, Chinese Taipei Olympian Association was established on June 10th, 2017. The first chairman was Mr. Ming-Yi Weng, a Winter Olympic cross-country skier. The board of directors is composed of Olympic athletes such as Mr. Yen-Chiang Peng, Mr. Ting-Fang Lin, Mr. Tai-Hsing To, and Mr. Ren-Gui Liang. All members of CTOA have represented our country and played in the Olympic Games. Therefore, the mission of CTOA is to take care of all current and retired Olympic athletes. In addition to promoting and caring for sports-related activities, Government and non-governmental organizations work together in order to encourage the Olympic spirit and develop positive impression to the society.
On January 9, 2022, the Chairman, Chih-Hsiung Huang began to lead CTOA. He expanded and established branches in the Central, Eastern, and Southern part of Taiwan. Olympians contribute to the society by implementing local services, promoting Olympic spirit, academic forums, sport camp, road running, and lectures. CTOA works closely with the International Olympic Association, emphasizing the positive impression and the social responsibility of athletes and setting irreplaceable role models to the society.
In the future, CTOA continually serves and gives back to the society. CTOA gathers Olympians’ strength and creates a platform for Olympians to exchange information and share their feelings before, among, and after trainings and competitions, as well as their experiences of employment and entrepreneurship after retirement. Chinese Taipei Olympian Association is a home and family to all Olympians.
